Alpha
Alpha
is a simple, dynamic and effective way of presenting the message of Jesus
in a clear and non-threatening manner to people from all walks of life,
particularly to those with no faith and those who do not attend services
regularly. The Alpha course is a 15-session, 10-week practical introduction
to the Christian faith. It was created to serve all denominations, traditions,
backgrounds and ages.
The next Alpha Class begins Wednesday, January 12, 2005,
at 6:00 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of College Hill Presbyterian Church.

What
does Alpha stand for?
A
is for anyone seeking more about the Christian faith. Adults
of all ages are welcome. It's especially geared to people interested
in investigating Christianity, newcomers to the church, new Christians,
and Christians who want to brush up on the basics.
L
is for learning and laughter. It is based around a
series of fifteen talks that tackle the key questions at the heart
of the Christian faith.
P
is for pasta. It is important that people gather in a welcoming
environment. Eating together gives people a chance to get to know
each other and to develop Christian relationships.
H
is for helping one another. The small groups give each person
a chance to participate and help each other along the way as they
discuss, study the Bible, and pray for each other.
A
is for ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is
regarded as too simple or too hostile. People are given a chance
to raise their questions and discuss relevant topics in small groups
after a talk.
