Mission:

an international, Christian, non-sectarian organization developed to provide a Christian influence to youth at a critical time in their lives. Despite its world-wide presence, Young Life is community based. The volunteer youth leaders (primarily college students) are able to develop friendships with junior and senior high young people. During the school year, the leaders conduct a one-hour “club” meeting at a home in the community each week. The leaders encourage the teens to worship with their families and be involved with their own church. Young Life in no way takes the place of a church youth group. It is a wonderful outreach to unchurched teens. Young Life demonstrates to young people, through its leaders, that God loves them and cares about them. In doing this, Young Life promotes Christian behavior in a way that is acceptable and effective for an adolescent who is experiencing the most turbulent time of his/her life. |
